2017-20

  • Agroclimatic databank established and a dynamic website (www.cropweatheroutlook.in) is developed and maintained.
  • Developed software for uniform agroclimatic characterization- Weather Cock & PET Calculator
  • Developed 24 crop weather calendars and 11 agroclimatic atlases
  • Developed the prototype of Dynamic Crop Weather Calendar
  • Prepared 23 Crop Weather Calendars for major crops of India.
  • Issuing National Agromet Advisory Services (NAAS) Bulletins on monthly basis
  • Preparing daily sub-divisional rainfall chart for the use of ICAR and Ministry of Agriculture
  • Concept of Micro-level Agromet Advisory Services were started based on block level weather forecast
  • 42 Farmers’ awareness programs (FAP) on climate change was conducted in which 8760 farmers were benefitted.
  • An android based App for agromet advisory was developed for Andhra Pradesh.
  • Developed Agro-climatic onset of crop season maps for 20 states of the country.
  • Percent Available for Soil Moisture (PASM) estimation was done for 08 centres of AICRPAM.
  • Agro-climatic atlas of 3 states, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Bihar were published.
  • Temporal and spatial distribution of dry spells over the country during the monsoon season was worked out.
  • Developed thumb rules and Decision Support System for major pest and diseases at 8 centres.
  • Decision Support Systems were developed for major insect- pest like white fly in cotton and thumb rules for major diseases.
  • Daily report on progress of rainfall in different meteorological sub-divisions of India, weekly bulletins (National Agromet Advisory Services-NAAS) in collaboration with IMD and monthly reports consisting of information on crop, weather and Agromet advisories (for NITI Aayog) are being prepared and sent to ICAR, several Ministries, etc. and uploaded regularly to www.cropweatheroutlook.in website.
